Leslie Maffeo is a senior associate at Doner Law, PLC where she specializes in employment law counseling and litigation. She practices before federal and state courts in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Ms. Maffeo regularly counsels employers in all aspects of employment law, including employee handbooks and other personnel policies, family and medical leave, disability accommodation, discrimination, wage-hour issues, and disciplinary and termination matters. She regularly represents employers before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state and local human rights agencies, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Ms. Maffeo has significant experience in all phases of litigation and trial work, as well as the administrative process and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Maffeo frequently trains management and staff on a variety of employment law issues, including anti-harassment, evaluation techniques, discipline, the handling of accommodations and discrimination complaints, and wage-hour compliance.
Prior to joining Doner Law, PLC, Ms. Maffeo was an attorney in the Labor and Employment practice group at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Prior to that, she was a Senior Compliance Manager and Staff Attorney at HMSHost Corporation, a retail and food services company with more than 30,000 employees throughout the U.S.
Outside of work, Ms. Maffeo is an active volunteer at her children’s school and can often be found cheering loudly at a baseball or softball diamond.
